What is the issue addressed in this article? A teacher gave out a crossword puzzle to her students that dealt with a book they were reading. One of the words was the N-word and had a clue that said " an insulting way to label a black person".
What was main point of article? To show there is prejudism in the classroom between teachers and students even if it was a mistake.
What have we read that relates to this topic? We have read about diversity in the classroom and multicultural education. We have also learned to treat everyone the same and avoid racial comments.
What opinions did the group have about this issue? Even though it was a mistake and there was no intention to hurt anyone, it still upset people especially parents and it was not right.
